Ernesto Velez

Ernesto has been President of Flores Suasuque, a Columbian flower growing and export company, since early 2000. He has been involved with the family owned company since the 80s.

He received a BS in Agronomy at the University of California, Davis and MS in Agricultral Economics at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He also completed the FAO postgraduate program in Bogota at the Latin American Marketing Institute.

Ernesto has been chairman, a member of the Board of Directors and member of the Research adn Development Committee for the Colombian Flower Exporters Association. He is involved with Cornell, Society of American Florists, agro-economic written surveys and studies related to the floriculture of many countries, and the Wholesale Florists Suppliers Association.
